US $2.23 million for government website

The current government website was put into operation on January 10, 2006.VietNamNet Bridge – The current government website will be upgraded into the government portal from now to 2010, at a cost of VND 38 billion (US $2.23 million) under a project approved by the government this week.

The government website will be upgraded into the government portal in accompany with the development itinerary of the e-government of Vietnam.

Under this project, the government portal will serve information exchange between the government and government agencies (G2G), the government and citizen (G2C), the government and businesses (G2B), and the government and overseas people.

The content of this portal will be sourced from the government’s official sources and allow users to have access to it anytime and anywhere by various equipment.

The portal will also include the government’s e-newspaper, the digital administrative map, and other multimedia applications.

The portal will be developed in three phases, from 2008 to 2010, with a total investment of VND 38 billion.

The current government website was put into operation on January 10, 2006. It attracts millions of visitors a day and is linked to over 200 websites worldwide.
